SIMBA Assistant
The power electronics agent for SIMBA.
SIMBA Assistant is an agent built for power electronics engineers. It helps create, study, and run SIMBA designs and Python scripts so you can move faster from idea to simulation.
Prompt Examples
These prompts show the level of specificity SIMBA Assistant can take and turn into simulation-ready work.
Generate a 48 V to 12 V synchronous buck converter in SIMBA for 600 W output power, with 100 kHz switching frequency, and create a clean simulation-ready design with the main scopes enabled.
Write a Python script in SIMBA to run a parameter sweep on MOSFET gate resistance from 2 ohms to 20 ohms and report the impact on switching losses and voltage overshoot.
Run a transient simulation on the active design, then summarize the main waveform results for output voltage, inductor current, switch voltage, and switch current, including steady-state ripple and peak values.
Read this MOSFET datasheet PDF and extract the parameters I need to build or validate a SIMBA model, including Rds(on), threshold voltage, capacitances, reverse recovery data, and switching-energy information.
Read this technical paper PDF, identify the converter topology and control approach, then turn it into a SIMBA study plan with the design steps, required parameters, simulation cases, and expected outputs.
Update the active design by changing the switching frequency to 150 kHz, doubling the output capacitor, and setting the load to 20 A, then rerun the simulation and summarize what changed in the results.

Privacy matters
SIMBA Assistant is designed with privacy in mind. When no local LLM is used, it relies on OpenAI ChatGPT, with a large included usage allowance.
No user data or engineering data are saved on our servers. For teams that require stricter control of their AI stack, the SIMBA MCP server is available for on-site deployment and for private LLM environments.
This enables organizations to bring SIMBA Assistant workflows to private infrastructure while keeping control of sensitive engineering data.
The SIMBA MCP Server
The SIMBA Assistant module includes the SIMBA MCP server.
This server extends the assistant beyond the standard interface and makes SIMBA capabilities available to private, local LLMs and other corporate tools. It gives engineering teams a controlled way to connect SIMBA workflows to their own AI stack, internal systems, and enterprise processes.
- Connect SIMBA Assistant workflows to private or local LLMs
- Integrate SIMBA with internal engineering tools and corporate platforms
- Enable AI-assisted design and scripting inside controlled IT environments
- Keep power electronics workflows closer to your own infrastructure
For teams building private AI environments, the MCP server is the foundation for secure, enterprise-ready SIMBA Assistant deployments.
Yearly subscription
SIMBA Assistant is available as an optional add-on, offered as a yearly subscription.
The yearly subscription includes access to:
- The SIMBA Assistant power electronics agent
- Agent workflows to create, study and run SIMBA designs
- Agent workflows to create, study and run Python scripts
- PDF-based assistance for technical papers and datasheets
- The SIMBA MCP server for integration with private, local LLMs and other corporate tools
